Mattuppetty

Mattuppetty is hardly 13 KM drive from Munnar, bliss for nature lovers. It is one of the embedded nature rich areas in Kerala. Mattuppetty is famous for its Indo-Swiss Livestock Project, where taking care of improved varieties (over a 100 varieties) of high yielding cattle. It is one of the biggest in the same type of projects in India. The farm is open for visitors from 9am to 11am & 2pm t0 3.30 pm. Access cost is Rs.5/- per person. Mattuppetty Lake and dam are the other main attractions. A boat journey on the lake is the best way to experience the heavenly destination. DTPC (District Tourism Promotion Council) providing all types of boat facilities on the lake. The rambling Kundala lake & tea plantations are other attractions in the surrounding area. A beautiful garden with nearly 300 varieties of roses, uncountable dahlias & dianthus etc. is an additional desirability.
